A 29-year-old man from Turner was killed after his motorcycle crashed with a pickup truck on Sunday.
Jon W. Devoe collided with the truck around Sunday on Richmond Road in Litchfield leaving his motorcycle trapped under the truck.
Both vehicles caught fire and exploded but bystanders managed to help extricate Devoe from beneath the truck before the explosion.
He tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old man from Bowdoin, was pulled out with help from a bystander.
Police say it appears Devoe was speeding when he crossed into oncoming traffic.
Devoe from Litchfield worked at the Lee Auto Malls group, Maine’s largest auto dealer. He graduated from Oak Hill High School.
On social media, people who knew Jon Devoe are paying tribute to him.
“Rest easy my friend ❤️ until we meet again. You were such a good person and always positive. I’m beyond shocked to hear the news and find out this was you!!,” one tribute read.
